The six year long efforts at Quality Assurance was sustained by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) headed by Rev. Dr. Albert D’souza & the Steering Committee NAAC Coordinator Mr. V.B. Hirulkar, who with his ingenuity and dynamism ensured that SFS College took its rightful place in the academic world and received the recognition and approval it deserved.
The SFS fraternity starting with the management, teachers, students, parents and alumni united as a team to put up a splendid performance on the occasion of the NAAC Peer Team Visit from 24th to 26th November 2009. SFS College had the distinction of being the first Institution in Nagpur to be Reassessed and Reaccredited. Not to be undone, the NCC cadets wing of SFS College set up an on-site Camp and gave a ceremonial escort to the Peer Team while the NSS volunteers gave a unique welcome to them. The whole premises presented a picture perfect opportunity, as the various Departments and Cells put their best foot forward for the presentation and validation process. The students put up a spectacular performance at the cultural programme which won the hearts of all present and drew wholesome praise from the members of the Peer Team.
Our continuing efforts at providing quality education supported by our 2 hostels which provide accommodation at affordable costs left an enduring impression on the members of the Assessment Team.
The fully automated, e-enabled Library with a seating capacity for 200 students in the Reading Room, Network Resource Centre, Reprography and Periodical Section and a modern Audio-Visual Conference Hall added a touch of modernity to the spruced up facilities.
With aesthetically designed Auditorium & a State- of- the- Art Seminar Hall and tiered Lecturer Halls fast nearing completion SFS College races to re-invent itself.
As we look to the future we can exude quiet confidence in being justifiably proud of having turned the Golden corner in 2006 and are ready not only to embrace the new challenges but to be drivers in the exciting & fast changing field of Higher Education as we march ahead forgoing linkages and collaborative efforts for exchange programme and research with institutions of repute. |
